during the first week of our trip, we hiked to kaena point, the westernmost spot in oahu. there was no shade along the way and it was hot as hell (it was my first painful sunburn in hawaii...aw sweet memories), but we were rewarded at the end with a beautiful and empty white sand beach. this hawaiian monk seal was also hanging out there, how cute!
i loved the cardinals all over hawaii...these ones were at hanauma bay. there was a mongoose sorting through the trash directly behind us as this picture was taken. i think the mongoose got a snickers wrapper!
